Product description
Matte paint looks incredible — and it's the easiest finish to ruin with the wrong soap. Standard car shampoos contain gloss agents and waxes that leave a residue. On a glossy car that residue blends in; on a matte car it builds up into shiny patches that completely destroy the look. KKE 302 Matte Finish Car & Bike Wash Shampoo is formulated specifically to clean matte paint without leaving any of that behind.
The matte-paint problem
Matte clear coat is a textured surface — micro-roughness that scatters light is what makes it look flat and uniform. Anything that fills in that micro-roughness (wax, polish, gloss agent in shampoo) makes the paint reflect light differently, creating shiny patches that contrast against the rest of the matte finish. Once that happens, the only way to fix it is repainting — expensive and irreversible.
What 302 does differently
- Removes dirt and grime without leaving residue. The cleaning chemistry rinses fully, with no film, no gloss, no wax.
- Keeps the matte texture intact. Doesn't fill the micro-roughness that defines matte's look.
- Gentle on the coating. No harsh chemistry that would degrade the matte clear over time.
- Effective on dirt. Cleans as well as a standard shampoo would — just without the gloss baggage.
Identifying features
- Lemon fragrance — refreshing during the wash, doesn't linger on the paint.
- Bright yellow-green colour — easy to spot in the bucket; you'll never confuse it with another product.
- Biodegradable formulation — what runs into the drain breaks down naturally.
How to use it
- Dilute the shampoo into clean water at the recommended ratio.
- Wash the matte vehicle from top to bottom in straight-line motions.
- Use a clean, soft microfiber mitt — never a sponge or anything that could leave swirl marks.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Pat dry with a soft microfiber towel — don't drag, which can leave streaks on matte.
Tip: For matte paint, less is more. Don't apply polish, wax, or sealant unless it's specifically labeled "matte safe" — anything else will create shiny patches you can't undo.
