Car Wax & Paint Sealants
Paint sealants and car waxes for detailers: hydrophobic PTFE sealant lasting 8–12 weeks, ceramic-infused carnauba wax, paste and spray wax. The final step after paint correction.
Wax or paint sealant: what to apply after paint correction
After compounding and polishing, the paint is bare and has to be protected before the car goes back to the customer. Waxes give the deepest gloss; paint sealants give the longest life. None of the products below is abrasive, so they go on as the last step.
| Product | Type | Protection | Use it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| KKE Pro Seal | Hydrophobic paint sealant — bonding silicone, PTFE and carnauba | 8–12 weeks | The customer wants the longest protection and water that sheets off |
| CernaGlow | Ceramic-infused carnauba wax | Longer than plain carnauba | Gloss of a wax with ceramic-style water beading |
| KKE Auto Wax | Paste car wax polish | 4–6 weeks | A traditional wax finish, by hand or DA polisher |
| KKE Express Wax | Spray wax, no curing time | Top-up layer | Wash-and-wax packages and quick maintenance details |
What a wax coating actually does
A wax coating fills the microscopic texture of the clear coat with a smooth, low-energy surface. Water cannot grip it, so it beads and rolls off and takes dust with it, and UV and contamination hit the wax before they reach the paint. A synthetic sealant does the same job with polymers that bond to the clear coat, which is why it outlasts a natural wax.

Paint sealant and wax FAQ
How long does a car paint sealant last?
KKE Pro Seal lasts 8–12 weeks through regular pH-neutral washing — roughly twice as long as a paste wax. Alkaline washes shorten that.
Is a paint sealant better than wax?
It lasts longer and resists heat better; a carnauba wax gives a warmer, deeper gloss. Pro Seal contains carnauba alongside PTFE and bonding silicone, so it gives you some of both.
Can I put wax on top of a sealant?
Yes. Apply the sealant first, let it cure, then add a carnauba or ceramic-infused wax on top for extra depth. Never the other way round: a sealant will not bond through wax.
Paint sealant or ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating lasts years but needs a fully corrected panel and a controlled application. A sealant is the faster, lower-commitment option and the usual choice for maintenance details.
